Members of The Festival Singers come from all over Southern California and bring various levels of music training and experience. We love “Sharing the Joy of Music” by participating in a traditional four part (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) choral group, performing all styles of music from Bach (the classics) to Broadway (show tunes) as well as pop, folk and patriotic arrangements.
We present three major concerts each year. They are scheduled in December, March and June, and we occasionally do special events such as singing for Senior Living facilities or other civic and charitable organizations.
Rehearsals are held every Tuesday evening between 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. starting the Tuesday after Labor Day and until the week before our last concert in June. We rehearse at St. John’s Episcopal Church and School in Rancho Santa Margarita, and are grateful for their support of our group by providing space for us. Visitors are welcome to attend any rehearsal to learn more about the group.
While formal auditions are not held, new singers are invited to join in September, January or late March. A short meeting will be held with the director to determine voice part and range.
Singers are expected to make a commitment to attend all rehearsals and performances and make a $25.00 monthly donation to the group. While not required for membership, the donation helps with concert and music expenses, and is a tax deductible donation to the extent allowed by law. The Festival Singers is a registered California non-profit organization. In addition there is a one time expense for concert attire.
